Well it had to happen sooner or later, Nintendo’s Pokemon Go has finally launched in Japan, the country these little guys first spawned out of. With a whirlwind of social media excitement, Niantic Labs, the software company behind the game, announced its much anticipated Japan launch.
The crazy popular game was first released in the US, New Zealand and Australia on July 6th. It can now be downloaded in over 30 countries,. The game has literally become a global phenomenon.
The Japanese launch comes with a McDonalds sponsorship deal. Many restaurants will host gamers as gyms and battlegrounds, the hope being of course they buy a big mac or two while there. Clever marketing in this mans opinion.
